From the tall boy can in a snifter via Savor Growl in Columbus.
This fantastic brew pours a deep oily obsidian with a fantastic head
of brown foam that settles down to a thick ring, thin layer, and
displays some very nice lacing. Nose of char, dark brown sugars,
black strap molasses, dark chocolate, dark coffee, and brulee.
Flavors exemplify a mighty fine stout with deeply roasted
malts of coffee, dark semi-sweet chocolate, dark fruit
notes, light cream, subtle licorice, and smoke. Nice mouth
feel; full body, smooth, coating, rich, light carbonation, and
and warming finish.

Overall, a FANTASTIC brew and one of my favorites
from this company.

Dontcha Know is what I am talking about. Nonsense. Mine says 14%.

It pours syrupy. Oh no! that totally works with the style. The aroma is all licorice or something and taste a creamy malt bomb with tons of lingering bitterness. The alcohol is well under the huge taste.

Highly recommended.

16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours black with a creamy dark khaki head that falls slowly leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have some dark fruits, berries and chocolate going on. Malts are there. The flavors basically follow the nose for the most part. Lots of chocolate. Some dark chocolate along with some chocolate syrup. More dark fruits and berries. Subtle floral notes. Solid bitterness. I'm picking up on some hop flavors. It's slightly sticky. Solid malt backbone. Mild warmth in the finish, but the alcohol is ultimately well hidden considering the ABV. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's slightly creamy and velvety, smooth and dangerously drinkable.

This is a pretty solid stout. It's a big and bold, but doesn't drink as big as it really is. Once again, this one truly is dangerously drinkable. It's enjoyable stuff. The craftsmanship is on point. I like it.

Big on roast. Big on booze. Big on flavor. I'm going to have to properly prepare for this session. Now where'd I put my drinking shoes?

Jet black and pouring like tar, Doncha Know Stout makes a loud introduction with a thick mocha meringue. Its incredibly roasty scent attacks the olfactory senses with smoke, espresso, burnt bread and whisky char. With a backbone of blackstrap molasses, the flavors leap right out with the decadence of scorched sugars throughout.

The larger than life dark ale batters the middle palate with a bevy of booze soaked char. Burnt cream and molasses applies a thick coat of sugars to the tongue while the overcast of smoke, char and pepper begin their intimidation of the senses of flavor. Bitter with burnt woods, acrid char and piney hops a brushfire component comes with a white lightning ethanol punch in the end.

Recklessly full, thick and lush, this sixteen ounce glass is a sipper that's designed for sharing. Its imperial strength goes above and beyond, highlighting the roast and leaving the palate with a chalky mouthfeel and an arid texture that both adds a surprising senses of drinkability but also leaves a void in balance for the booze and char to batter the tastebuds with unabashed apology.

16 oz. can.
Newest batch is 14% abv.
Brewed and Canned at Great South Bay Brewery, Bay Shore, NY.
Moderate pour yields a one inch tannish-brown head over a black body with some nice lacing. Nose of bitter chocolate, milk chocolate, roasted malt, malted milk, and a slight dark fruit note going on as well. Taste mirrors nose nicely with the chocolate taking center stage. Nice masking of the 14% abv as well. Yeah, wow! Overall, this evil guy always impresses me with his ingenuity and devil may care brewing of stouts. Cheers!

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can purchased at Thimble Island Brewing while contract brewing was occurring there winter of 2017.
The beer pours jet black oil hue with a thick pour into my glass. A fizzy tan head of 2 cm foams up and fades quickly via some large pockmarked craters to nothing on the surface after only a few seconds.
The aroma is dark chocolate, charred malt and some anice notes. Some raisin and molasses notes too. General booziness is strong in this nose with this beer. I dont get any hop characters here.
The first sip reveals a thick body with almost no carbonation and a sticky syrupy texture that coats my palate and throat after each swallow. Very chewy thick beer in my glass.
The flavor is as advertised with lots of malt and booze. I get dark chocolate and molasses up front, some brown sugar and raisin with a hit of charred malt too. The booze is a little black pepper and it lingers a bit with a warming swallow after each sip. No hops here on this big boozy stout.
Worth tracking down if you like booze bombs and malt. Quite a sipping beer.
