Honestly was a little disappointed because I was expecting fruity goodness and got IPA bitterness without the can even saying it was so.

16 oz can poured into Boulevard Tropical Pale Ale can glass.

Hazy blonde with a tall creamy head of 3 fingers. Lots of lace left behind.

Aromas of huge oranges and pineapple. Slight orange sherbet.

Flavor starts off with a sharp washed out piney bitterness with supplemental mineral water, but then the bitterness fades away quick to a really nice bready/grainy malt sweetness and finally the pineapple and mango flavors settle in nicely. Faint resiny perfumey bitterness remains on the palate but not overly so.

Flavor is wonderfully creamy with a good acidic bite and nice carbonation. Dries nicely on the palate.

Overall, if a beer reminded me of Hawaiian beer at all it would be this one. Totally reminiscent of Maui and Waikiki and other 5-island breweries. Very nicely done, Evil Twin. Highly recommended.

16oz can - zero information about what kind of style this is supposed to be on the label, just 'natural flavors'.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with a teeming tower of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly eggshell white head, which leaves some decent splattered snow rime lace around the glass as it very slowly sinks out of sight.

It smells of overripe pineapple flesh, a further indistinct tropical fruitiness, gritty and grainy cereal malt, a bit of stoney flintiness, and some plain herbal, leafy, and floral green hop bitters. The taste is pineapple and mixed exotic stone fruit (papaya, guava, and kiwi, mostly), bready and crackery pale malt, some damp minerality, and more earthy, musty, and lightly perfumed floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly laid-back in its palate-pleasing frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and pretty smooth, with a small aerosol creaminess popping its head up once things warm up a bit around here. It finishes off-dry, the mixed frooty notes predominating.

Overall - I suppose what they set out to do was to produce a beer that resembles a cocktail that one might be inclined to drink when on an island (Tahiti, as opposed to Baffin, to be clear). Lots of flavour, and easy to put back, even though I live in a land-locked province, and can only dream of such places.

Poured from a 16 ounce can into a Teku glass. no date stamp (while is why I avoid Evil Twin) but on sale for $2.50.
3.5/3.5/3.75/4.25/4
A: Hazy yellow with very light head, heavy lacing, glowy gold.
S: Wheatish and citric with fruit.
T: Soft, sweet, and creamy (more orgeat than vanilla, though that could be the daiquiri talking). Guava? Some generic hops, though knowing the NYC beer market and ET's policies, might be many months old.
M: Spritzy and light.
O: Pretty tasty, quaffable, fruity beer à la Lagunitas 12th of Never or Sumpin Easy.

Definitely one of the better creme ales I have ever drank. Looks rather hazy with a 1/2 inch of foam. Smell is faint fruit but taste is teaming with pineapple and guava fruit. Semi sweet finish light to medium in body this beer may not be worth it to some being almost 5 bucks a pounder but I was pleasantly surprised.

16 ounce can into pint glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours moderately hazy golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, apricot, orange juice, grapefruit, berry, guava, citrus peel/rind, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical fruit/hops and pale/wheat malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, apricot, orange juice, grapefruit, berry, guava, citrus peel/rind, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, spicy bitterness; and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, apricot, orange juice, grapefruit, berry, guava, citrus peel/rind, light pepper/pine, wheat, cracker, white bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical fruit/hops and pale/wheat malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, fairly crisp/sticky, and lightly acidic/tangy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.8%. Overall this is a delicious fruited wheat beer/IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical fruit/hops and pale/wheat malts flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/refreshing to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Very well balanced fruits, hops, and wheat beer flavors; with solid bitter hop presence/balance. Not as intensely juicy on fruits as expected; but a really enjoyable, and well made style example otherwise.

A: The beer is clear pale light yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with just a thin white head that left some specks of bubbles on the surface.
S: Light aromas of pineapples are present in the nose. Notes of guava also become perceptible as the beer starts to warm up a bit.
T: The taste has light to moderate flavors of guava juice along with hints of pineapples. There is a faint bit of sourness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The is an interesting tropical fruit-inspired beer but it doesn't taste nearly as juicy as I would have expected since there is a strong dose of underlying malts in the background.
