16 oz can from Tavour. Medium golden with a mild haze, thick foamy head. Aroma has elements of citrus, floral notes, tropical fruit, melon. Taste brings some funkiness, soapy character, blood oranges. Interesting mix of bitter and fruity.

 

 

L: A hazy gold pour filled with streams of slowly rising bubbles and topped with a white 3.5" cap with good retention and a very fine bead that produces ledges of lace..

S: big hop aromas with resin, pine a trace dank, onion and garlic, hint of sulfur and some citrus and citrus rind.

T: fruit, citrus, tropical fruit, honey and biscuit lead off the flavors. The bitterness is medium high and the hop flavors are well developed, layered and complex coming from at least 3 different sources.

F: Very creamy

O: A very delightful hoppy beer that is repeatable.

 

 

 

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on December 9, 2018. #26 from the Erase & Rewind series of beers. Nice thick haze with a very pleasant aroma.

 

 

On draft, Loosa Brews, AL.

Pours a hazy gold, with a nice finger of thick, creamy head that sits nicely on top. As the foam settles, a nice even layer of lace clings to the inside of the glass.

Citrus and malt dominate the nose. Predominantly sweet, with a good balance of malt and orange peel. There’s a subtle hop dankness and booze that emerge as it warms.

Definitely a more malt-forward hazy. Not in any way old, just a sweet NE style IPA with complimentary characteristics of orange and just a touch of overripe pineapple. Hops linger on the back end, but for what I expected it’s a tad 1-dimensional.

Smooth, soft. A present but low carbonation with a juicy finish. Lightly sticky, subtly boozy.

 

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours very hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, light peppercorn/pine, wheat, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no lingering hop astringency after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is an awesome NEIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Great soft feel. Feels like Simcoe/El Dorado. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hops; great wheat/oat/malt balance, mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected.

 

 

 

Pours a big fluffy white head. Excellent retention and lacing. Brew itself is nearly opaque and cloudy, and a dark orange-peach color.

Tropical and peppery nose: black pepper, parsley, mango, pineapple, dank herb, juicy orange, honeyed cracker.

Moderately dank and quite juicy on the palate, brightened by some fresh herbal notes of mint and basil. Mango is huge here, along with berries, pineapple, sweet orange, apple, and banana.

Very lively mouthfeel, but quite smooth. A little too much sting up front, and then a little too silky on the back end.

I've really enjoyed the one-off NEIPAs from Evil Twin and this is one of my favorites so far. Tons of citrus along with tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is smooth and non-abrasive.
