Pours with a thin head smell of grapefruit. Taste of grapefruit juice with a light sourness. You get the feel and after tasty of the grapefruit. This is a excellent grapefruit beer to have around 10oz of when eating a cheese tray.

Pours golden yellow. with a 1/4 inch white head, which quickly dissipated. No lacing. Very little carbonation.
Aroma is slightly sour, fruity, acetic.
Sour taste of grapefruit & barley. Mouth puckering, dry finish.
Mouthfeel is thin and watery.
I didn't hate this beer, it was nicely sour but it could be better.

I have decided to dedicate myself to the Sue Grafton series of beers this week. ICYMI, she was the author of the Kinsey Milhone series of mystery novels in which each title beCAN with a successive letter of the alphabet. I was not a big fan of her series, but I would bet that I will like these much more. Sadly, I don't think that I bought either A, B or C when they were released, but I plan to stay current from now on. Viva The CANQuest (tm)! This marks my last one (for the time being).
From the CAN: "Let's face it - we all like to put labels on things. It just makes us feel more comfortable. What assumptions have people made about you based on your race, religion, gender, the way you dress, or even the beer you drink? We did in fact label this beer for your convenience. It his a fresh tartness, a twist of salt and a balanced fruitiness of grapefruit - apparently a complete reflection of your personality. We hope you like what this label says about you?"
I have decided, over the course of the past several days, that the best course of action is to do some in-CAN agitation, Crack! open the vent & immediately start an aggro C-Line Glug. This way, any adjuncts that may have flocculated & settled onto the punt are now back in suspension (at least in theory). This produced a brief two fingers of fizzy, foamy, soapy, off-white head with poor retention that could not wait to return to wisps. Color was a cloudy Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9), resembling a glass of freshly-squeezed grapefruit juice. Hey, wait a minute! Nose smelled strongly of salt & grapefruit. It was like having breakfast on the fantail.
Not that I would ever leave the mess decks with food for an al fresco dining experience … Haha! I used to do it all the time. I stood so many underway weatherdeck watches that I lived out there & it made more sense, to me, to eat on station, rather than wasting time below.
Mouthfeel was the same ol', same ol' - thin & watery. Par for this course. The taste was equal parts salt and grapefruit with some lactic acid thrown in for good measure. Phew! CAN you say "dry", boys & girls? Man, I have had white wines that were not this dry! My eyes dried out, the Zephyr winds could be heard blowing across the Sahara Desert & water was shut off at the main. Dry! I actually rather liked it, but then again, I hate "sweet" anything so it kind of follows. Finish was likewise dry, salty, citrusy and bitter with a lingering tartness on the lips, causing them to slightly pucker in response. Phew! What a wild ride this has been. Now, I gotta keep my eyes peeled for H Is For Hops. TTFN.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy red grapefruit, lemon, lime, orange, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, grapefruit, salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy red grapefruit, lemon, lime, orange, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy red grapefruit, lemon, lime, orange, citrus peel/zest, peach, pear, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, grapefruit, salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness, and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering tartness, tangy fruit, and carbonation. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/acidic/tangy, and lightly saline balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.5%. Overall this is an outstanding fruited gose. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, grapefruit, salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish; not overly lactic or salty. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Great balance of juicy grapefruit, Lacto complexity, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected. Was hoping for a bit more grapefruit overall, but this was just as impressive as most of the other letters in the series.

Look: Medium head which quickly dissipated evenly. Pale golden amber, hazy and opaque.
Smell: Sour citrus and salt.
Taste: Sour citrus on the front, then grapefruit peel. Finishes with wheat and coriander.
Feel: Very mild carbonation, like a soda that's been sitting out for a while.
Overall: As I drink more some of the fruity characteristics are lost. Pretty inoffensive.
