A - Got to give it a straight 5 on the appearance like Satin's urine it's a pure bright red with a 1/2 inch of frothy foam. Tons of floaties throughout.
S - Mostly sweet and hoppy on the nose. No real fruit of vanilla about it.
T - Defiantly a very different taste I am used to not quite IPA but the bitterness and body is there but not quite bitter since it has some fruit flavors from the puree.
M - Smooth light to medium in body.

Overall an interesting beer but not really something I enjoy. The mash of IPA and cranberry should be good but I do not enjoy it as much as I thought I would.

There's a lot of similarities between cranberry and hops. Both have an alluring bitter, spicy, vegetal bite. Both exhibit fruit and sometimes tangy properties. The only difference is that one has at least one place in the world of culinary arts, the other does not.

Cranberry Saus Baus is a collision of red berry and hops as Evil Twin's fruit forward IPA pours with a hazy mauve hue that seems to glow in the glass. Its neon hues are crowned with a frothy slight pink foam before drawing in the nose with a spicy scent of citrus, herb and red berry to get the holiday parties started the beery way. A modest sweetness of pie crust, light honey and caramel hits the front of the tongue for a short but firm malt impact early on.

But the cranberries really take hold on the middle palate as that red raspberry, juniper, strawberry and gooseberry character comes with the spicy bite of pomegranate seed and a stemmy woodsiness that the unique berry provides. Underneath, the grapefruit, orange and lime like character of hops propel the cranberries and give it a rounded but piquant taste of rose wine with a bitterness of gin, fresh spruce and an extended herbalness of chive, fresh cut grass and lemongrass.

Medium light in body, the beer would be more moderate on the palate but the tartness of the berries uses its acidity to lighten the body further, allowing for a crisp and refreshing taste but with the unsettled tannic bite of cranberry seeds that's simply hard to ignore.

Cranberry Saus Baus pours a turbid bright red color, almost pink, with a fluffy light pink head that slowly settles into a thin lacing. Citrusy hop aroma with just a bit of malt. Lots of citrus hop flavor as well, a bit of bready malt sweetness finishing with a pretty good whack of cranberry tartness. Dry, slightly thin mouthfeel.

Overall I liked this one better than the regular “saus baus” I had last year. Well worth trying; pair it with turkey dinnah of course!

Canned 10/31/18, ETCRAN1B-AH, 4130.

The pour on this is crazy, a pink-hued hazy red, like I just put kool aid mix into my beer. Not much head or lacing, but with a crimson intro like that, you don’t need much else to grab your attention.

The nose is sweet, getting a lot of vanilla and subtle fruitiness from that cranberry purée. Hints of overripe tropical mango sneak out as well. Very inviting, and no lingering hops or bitterness.

There is a very mild cranberry tartness, but predominantly I’m getting a lot of those oats and vanilla complimenting a smooth but present hoppiness. It’s tasty, and great for the season, but I’ll admit that between the color and the nose, I would have liked a tad more sweetness in the flavors.

Soft but sharp carbonation, smooth creamy mouthfeel. Lightly sticky finish, subtly warming.
