Canned 8/1/24. Drank 3/21/25.
Pour is jet black with a dense, tight, creamy half finger cap of cinnamon colored foam. Good retention. Good lacing.
Nose is chocolate, coffee, vanilla, latte, light roasty malts.
Taste is similar, but coconut starts to come through more here than on the nose. vanilla, coffee is subtle (unfortunately), roasted malt, hint of ash. Reasonably balanced and surprisingly not overly sweet.
Big full body. low carbonation.
Overall a really nice, enjoyable beer. flavors aren't over powering, doesn't too sweet. I prefer more coffee, but that's just personal preference

Look: Motor oil black with a huge thickness that is instantly perceptible. Very persistent espresso colored head that dissipates extremely slowly and leaves incredible lacing on glass.
Smell: Strong coffee presence. A tiny bit of coconut. Very roasty. Plenty of malt and sweetness as well.
Taste: Oh, sweet mother this is wonderful. Plenty of malt sugar. The coconut is very subdued, which I like in this. There’s a bitter coffee finish that keeps the malt sugar in check. It is thick and dessert like. Basically like drinking a slice of cake that you threw into a giant cup of espresso.
Feel: Absolute perfection. Wonderfully thick without being cloying. Feels substantial and appropriate to the style of the beer.
Overall: I don’t know when I became so cheap, but when I saw that it was $37 for a four pack I was initially like no way in hell, but then a fellow shopper was able to convince me it was worth a try. This is one of the best stouts I’ve had in a very, very long time. It reminds me of the Dark Lord Stout that I was able to have in 2014. It’s definitely a bit more reserved than Dark Lord but it’s as if you took Dark Lord, which is like a music artist wearing their full stage getup, and took them out on the street in like a chic suit. Bold, but refined. This is just an absolute pleasure.

Odell snifter
Deep inky black with a heavy almond head of 1 finger. Recedes to a fingernail with sparse lacing.
Not much aroma but some slight almond and coconut. A little macadamia. Very slight dark roasted malt/chocolate.
Flavor brings nuts (almond, walnut), coconut, melted chocolate, vanilla, hemp seed, and spicy coffee.
Feel is thick and viscous, just exactly as I expect ET stouts to be, and they never disappoint. Tons of great alcohol heat, roasty coffee, and hot hot liqueur.
Overall, an outstanding beer, maybe not the titan I thought it would be but still incredible nonetheless. These beers are always fantastic. Live on, ET NYC!

Served in a teku glass from the can.
Appearance: super dark tan head with a very dark motor oil like body coming off dark brown to Black. Had initially Rose one finger's length but dropped before the first sip to maybe half a finger's length.
Smell: heavy molasses and brown sugar scent which comes and goes into the nose but it is incredibly appetizing.
Taste: sweet but malty beer at the same time does not come off dry has an incredibly desert-like coffee feel which feels like the best thing that I have had in a long time. I can taste vanilla and coconut with hints of espresso which sticks to the pallates.
Mouth: super incredibly sticky beer with a full body medium carbonation.
Overall: I paid a little bit over sticker price for this beer but it was well worth it in my opinion. I do not know if I will ever see it again but if you do buy it. Salud.

Smells of coffee. Mocha colored head. Tastes of coconut and macaroons. Don’t love the aftertaste but overall still a solid beer. Hard to place what’s off, but something missing in the overall flavor balance.

Evil Twin and J. Wakefield collab, 15.5% abv imperial stout brewed with Heritage Scandinavian vanilla seeds, macaroon extra special coconut and cave matured coffee sap; 4/12/19 canning...
Pours pitch black, kicked up very little tan foam... Extra sweet dessert-type stout - little too sweet and rich for my tastes - definite fudgy, coffee and vanilla stout - coconut subtle as a sweet, chewy, almost nutty and herbal element... Needs something to dry it out or air it out for me, but fans of pastry stout will love it... Full-bodied, represents all advertised ingredients, though my palate can't appreciate what cave aging does for coffee any more than I can tell the vanilla is Scandinavian lol... Little sticky, boozy chocolate and molasses lingers on the finish...

Pours pitch black color with a thick creamy 2 finger brown colored head that faded extremely slowly and left excellent foamy lacing. Smells of dark chocolate, molasses, soy sauce, burnt coffee grinds, vanilla, coconut, brown sugar, chocolate chip cookies, and brownies. It’s a wonderful mix of cookie sweetness mixed with light booze, dark chocolate and syrupy notes.
Tastes delicious and very much like it smells, with dark chocolate, molasses, soy sauce, burnt coffee grinds, vanilla, coconut, milk chocolate, brown sugar, chocolate chip cookies, espresso beans, and maple syrup. As it warms up the coconut and vanilla become more prominent, adding even more complexities. This is heavenly.
Ridiculously smooth for a 15.5% ABV brew, this was creamy and almost milky with very mild carbonation then a mild smoky bitterness that trails off with metallic notes and light soy sauce. No hint of alcohol in the flavor.
Overall this was world class and I love the crazy ingredients they used as it really came out unique and full of flavor. A fun brew for any beer geek who likes stouts. I have no clue what Cave Matured Coffee Sap is like, but I may seek that shit out.
