Black color. Frothy, beige head. Coffee, roasted malt, and chocolate in the aroma. Moderate, roasted bitterness. Smooth and easy drinkable stout for any time.

On draft at Brew Bank Topeka. Poured an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. Nice chocolate taste with coffee, oatmeal and some toffee. Nice roasted coffee taste with chocolate and oats.

This pours velvety dark brown. In the glass, it is black with no highlights (SRM 40). A two-inch, dark chestnut head is rocky before falling to a veil and leaving patchy lace on a PBGC dimpled mug.

The aroma opens with lightly charred malt, light smoke, followed by baker's chocolate and just a touch of licorice.

Roasted malt carries into the flavor, along with malt bitterness that outweighs the sweetness. Pumpernickel fills the middle, while baker's chocolate comes at the end. Throughout, there is charred malt and light blackberries. The finish is long and charred, with faint smoke.

The body is medium, with a thin creamy texture. Alcohol is as expected against light carbonation. The beer does have a light astringency.

This is a pleasant and relaxed Oatmeal Stout that will go well with light conversation and friends. Autumn seems to fit the comforting nature of this experience. Thank you Meghann and Kyle.

Dark chestnut, approaching black in the glass. Two fingers of mocha head. Decent retention and impressive webbed lacing.

Chocolate malts, a little coffee and some clear umami in the nose.

The taste follows closely with umami and bitter bakers cocoa the most dominant. Coffee grounds, strong char, ash and a kiss of plum show as well.

Surprisingly creamy feel. Only medium bodied. Moderate carbonation.

Gotta be in the mood for dark RIS flavors when you crack this one. Great, dark malt depth.

Poured from a pint can into a tulip.

Pours jet-black with a moderate dark-brown head. Limited retention but good lacing.

Aromas of roasted grain, coffee, faint anise. Cocoa and a touch of earthy/piney hop.

The flavor follows the nose. Well balanced between mild sweetness and charred bitterness.

Excellent mouthfeel. Well carbonated. A nice drying finish.

A really good oatmeal stout that almost reaches imperial level.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a quarter finger high tan colored head that died down, leaving a thin head covering the surface and a wide collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of black licorice and dark roasted malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of black licorice and dark, roasted malts. There is a moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation and lots of dryness in the finish.
O: This beer tastes like a hybrid between a Russian Imperial Stout and an Oatmeal Stout - it has the aroma and flavor your would expect from a Russian Imperial Stout with the lighter body nature you would expect from an Oatmeal Stout.

This is a great little, tiny, baby brew from one of my favorite brewers (especially for stouts). Evil Twin is expert in all they do, as evidenced from their output. This stout being of the smaller variety it is Evil Twin review number 36 for me.

I poured it too cold, so I warmed it in the glass. It has a lovely little light brown head that leaves some nice lacing. Now that it's warmed up, it is letting off nice, pungent hoppy smells with just a tad of roasty smell. The taste is much roastier, with lots of deep bitterness. A triumph. It is a great balance of not being too small or too huge and a suck-me-down deliciousness.

Highly recommended. I will seek more.

From the bottom of the can: "BATCH#002 07:07"

Appearance: The body is black and it has a medium-large khaki head that slowly fades to a short cap. The had forms nicely with a cratered surface of various bubble sizes. It has good retention and it leaves some nice lacing on the glass.

Aroma: Roasted grain aromas come through with a bit of carbon and a hint of pine. There is a light bit of cocoa. A light bit of oat comes through when the glass is disturbed.

Taste: Up front there is a woody carbon flavor mixed with charred grains. Towards the middle there is a bit of carbon and a touch of burnt caramel.

Mouthfeel: It's a medium-full bodied beer with a smooth texture and a light finish. It's very easy to drink. There is a roasted bitterness to the beer which floats above and below the medium range depending on the sip.

Overall: The can states that this is an "OATMEAL STOUT" and that it is "7% ALC BY VOL." The alcohol is tame and the beer has a nice roasted flavor. It's very enjoyable to drink and I'd recommend it to those who like Oatmeal Stouts that are a bit stronger and a bit more bitter. I could drink it again.

As a PK and thusly by osmosis, a Biblical Scholar, I appreciate the attention to historical accuracy ET Brewing shows by making Even More Little Tiny Baby Jesus a beer of color. What I like even more is they made an Oatmeal Stout when 'soft" citrus "bombs" and murky carbonated screwdrivers are all the rage. A true, hearty Oat stout too with a healthy abv of 7%.
Aroma is mild - I want more of a blast of the smokey under tones of burnt oats and brown sugar. Great clotted cling to the dark tawny head and light actually almost shines through this nearly black brown beer.
Flavor is rich and roastey with lotsa mocha latte and leather notes - complex this stout is yes!
Carbonation seems a bit high but it helps the herbal earthy hop bite to come forward and blend with the dark, roasted grain character.
More roast barley and hop on the finish is a bit sharp and metallic but not unpleasant, even expected in a robust stout.
Well done. A perfect compliment to a cool evening in front of an open fire, a base for Chili or marinade for flank steak.
