This was one of the better beers I have had from these guys super fruit almost like the name passion fruit itself it taste of guava fruit, grapefruit and actual orange not peel sweetness but still hoppy and flavorful enough to cut through the massive 9% ABV making it more of a treat to finish rather than a chore. Would love to pick up another fantastic DIPA!

Tangy, tart, bitter and fruity, the art of mixing flavors in beer lead to a lot of unintended consequences. And if you're the Evil Twin brewery, those consequences make you happy. Rather than portraying a margarita taste, their passion fruit infused, margarita-styled imperial IPA comes across pleasantly grapefruity instead.
The Art of Mixing Beer, the Passion Fruit Margarita edition pours with a creamy golden glow through a standard hoppy haze. As its creamy and dense froth builds, the nose fills with tangy sensation and succulent scents of tropical fruit along with a cast of citrus, spruce and spice. Early sweetness is agave and lychee-like before a slight caramelization and nutty cashew taste washes the early palate.
But the beer's fruity tartness and hop forward demeanor starts to overtake the malt sweetness deeper and deeper in the middle palate. Passionfruit offers its succulent tang while the hops bring a bevy of orange, grapefruit, mango and papaya with those strong flavors of red grapefruit juices leading the way, equipped with its own tart and bitter interplay long and lean on the late palate.
Medium bodied and trending dry, the hop resins and fruit acidity work in tandem to provide a drying texture that is mixed drink-like before trailing with the firm taste of English bitters and citrus peel in a medium long aftertaste. The spice of booze shows up more gin-like than that of tequila further pushing this beer toward a citrus focused mixed beer rather than a margarita type of taste.
