16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of orange peel, grapefruit and toasted caramel. Sharp bitterness with orange and toasted caramel.

Evil Twin Negroni has a medium, off-white head, a hazy, orange-gold appearance, bubbles, and moderate lacing. The aroma is of citrus peels, very faint spices, and underlying pale malts. The taste is similar, with essentially no bitterness. Mouthfeel is high medium, and Negroni finishes medium dry.

For a mocktail cocktail mixture of plenty this beer really surprise me. Original take on it was dry like the gin bitters like the Vermonth and finished with a slight orange presences which gave a sweet feel to the palate. Can't say a negroni but if I did this is the best IPA interpretation I have ever seen

another cool little series of beers from evil twin, who always seems to have such cool ideas and the balls (and resources) to really run with them. this doesnt taste like a negroni to me, but its an excellent ipa, sneaky strong too. i think the gin botanicals and the orange garnish are what stand out the most in this, the other elements maybe less so, heck i dont even know what negroni ingredients they even worked in here, but the hops are strong and seem to possess at least some of these features that they are trying to develop from the cocktail, and i think it works, but its just way more ipa than anything else, no complaints from me on that. i am surprised to see this as clear as it is, bright sunny yellow in the glass with just a little chill haze, no a big milky starchy look at all, and a nice head as well, pure white. aroma and flavor show citrus from the hops, a sweet and bitter orange component at the same time, and some light spruce or juniper, the gin part. there is a touch of spiciness too from the hops in here, and there is some sweetness from the grain, other negroni elements seem not really present, but the beer drinks much lighter than i thought it would, seems real fresh, and has quite a distinctive herbal and citrus forward hop profile that pops from start to finish, more springy to me than late summer/early fall now, but it works. evil twin continues to hold my attention, and deservedly so, this is fun, different, and good, even if i might not be able to call it out as negroni inspired if i didnt know it was supposed to be...

I will always cop to my f**k-ups & this was one of them. I only recently purchased this CAN, along with a couple of others, to review in a brewery horizontal that would include these "cocktail" beers. In blundering around this afternoon, I knocked this one over in just such a way so as to slightly pierce the aluminum cylinder! Eeek. It spritzed briefly, just enough to release its pent-up CO2 & then seemed to relax. I threw it into the reefer, allowed it to cool & now, I am ready for an emergency CANQuest (tm) review & rating. 8=O
From the CAN: "Double India Pale Ale brewed with Natural Flavors".
The piercing was thankfully on the opposite side from the vent so it was like a stupidly-done shotgun. I held the CAN at an angle with the vent pointed down & away from the piercing. As soon as I executed the Crack! the CANtents came roaring out and into my glass. 8=O No wonder I gave up on shotgunning beers so long ago. It formed just under two fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, tawny head with moderate retention. Color was a slightly-hazy Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5). Nose had a citrusy tang, but I was unsure what it was supposed to mimic. A Negroni is gin, vermouth, Campari & orange peel. Well, this beer was not as sweet as I CAN imagine that CANcoction to be, but it certainly had an orange citrusiness! Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was bitter & boozy with a definite orange presence. Phew! I felt like I had been drinking cocktails all afternoon. Finish was dry, boozy, hot & one was plenty. YMMV.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a pale yellow color and a very cloudy consistency. There was a 3/4", foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Very good lacing.
S: A decent, but not spectacular, aroma of hops, citrus fruit, a floral quality, malt, and an herbal quality.
T: Tasted of a small amount of malt (mostly in the finish), some of an herbal / medicinal quality (kind of like juniper), a good amount of hops (subtler than expected), a light floral quality (quite fleeting), and some citrus fruit (orange peel). Kind of an odd mishmash of a flavor. The herbal / medicinal elements don't always mesh well, but it's still an interesting flavor.
F: A well-carbonated beer with a sharp finish. Medium-bodied.
O: An uneven, but oddly interesting beer. Worth a try.
