Poured from a bottle into a small glass taster
L: no head or lacing. Nice amber/red copper color. Haven’t had an English barleywine before (that I know of) so...
S: sweet, sugary nose. Getting a good amount of that maple syrup, vanilla decent. Aroma is pretty sharp if that makes sense
T: not sure how to describe this but here we go. Want to say maple syrup jello before it’s refrigerated (maybe more of a feel thing) with this bizarre, medicinal thing. I’m kind of at a loss, it’s drinkable but not enjoyable
F: back to that liquid jello pre-fridge thing, I’m not a fan
O: not for me, not sure how much of it is style vs. execution but this was a letdown. Oh well, can’t all be winners - cheers
