Evil Twin Brewing More Coffee Porter? Sey No More poured from the can into a chalice. A black body appeared producing a very small [about ¼-finger] tan head that dissipated very quickly to a thin ring of foam. The aroma is toasty, dominated by, coffee, and dark chocolate. The taste matches the aroma with the added flavors of coca, caramel, and dark toffee. Mouth feel is full bodied, smooth and a little chewy. Moderate carbonation is also noted.

More Coffee Porter has full flavor and very drinkable for such a high abv.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a dark, mahogany brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a thin, tan-colored head that quickly dissipated. Not a whole lot of lacing.

S: A very nice aroma of chocolate, vanilla, malt, nuts, and coffee.

T: Tasted of a surprising amount of vanilla (sweet - more than expected), a fair shot of coffee (a subtle presence), a decent bit of chocolate (always nice to have), some malt (present throughout, though unobtrusive), and a nutty quality (almonds, in particular). A super solid, very much enjoyable flavor. Sweet, subtle, and not at all boozy.

F: A below average amount of carbonation with a smooth and creamy finish. Medium-bodied.

O: A genuinely likable beer. Worth a shot.

Such mixed reviews for this one all I can see is it's a very dark Rich beer with a very minimal head that fades to nothing. Smell is very mild I've got no chocolates ethanol notes or coffee just mild Chucky Porter notes. Taste as some described a nice hint of ethanol balanced with nothing to choke on with some chocolate and coffee notes and a smooth coffee finish. as described the body is pretty medium to heavy not too strong despite the above average ABV. Overall I'm still a huge fan of imperial biscotti break so I don't know why would pick this up again but it was... Okay? Yeah

*Poured into a Teku glass from a 16oz can*

This poured pretty much pitch black that was reminiscent of cold brew coffee. There was about a half finger thick head on initial pour but this pretty much disappeared almost instantly.

As for the aroma, I got a big hit of booze with some earthy Sumatra coffee in the front. It was earthier than I was expecting and had a slight eastern medicinal quality to it. There was a hint of raisins and black cherry in the middle which were coupled with roasted sweet malts and then finished with a sweet dark chocolate.

The taste follows the nose as I got a hit of ethanol taste, Sumatra coffee, and roasted sweet malts upfront. These initially strong and bold flavors mellowed a bit into a marshmallow like sweetness coupled with a touch of vanilla. Then, I was greeted again with strong flavors of a large lingering coffee-like bitterness which also had an herbal and medicinal quality to it. There were also faint notes of an almond-like nuttiness in the end.

With a full body and a medium carbonation--this beer started off fizzy like but ended with a smooth finish. I thought this was pretty typical of this style so not much to say here. Again, this had a pretty long and lingering bitter/medicinal aftertaste to it which I didn't like too much.

This was a slightly above average porter for me. It wasn't very memorable but it wasn't bad either. I didn't like the medicinal-like bitterness of this beer, but the mellow sweetness to the taste and the aroma helped balance it out a bit, though only slightly. I probably wouldn't drink this again, since the price tag doesn't really justify the quality of this beer in my opinion.

16 oz can packaged 02/13/20 and poured 03/27/20 into wine glass.

A: Dark brown not black, pours with little carbonation. Very faint/thin ring of delicate lacing retained. Light coffee bubble haze lingers on top. Dotted lacing on the glass.
S: Coffee, malt, hint of dark fruit.
T: Very forward vanilla sweetness. Lingering lactic tart finish. Subtle alcohol warming. The coffee is very subdued with low bitterness overall.
M: Smooth on the palette with good body to support the ABV
O: At 11.5% this comes in as a reasonable imperial porter, but the coffee is not a highlight for me, unfortunately. The linger sour/lactic finish noticeably detracted from my enjoyment of this beer. I don't know if this comes from the added almond adjuncts, but it was an unfortunate miss.

This beers pours a motor oil color but not as thick.

I am getting a rich coffee flavor, no bitterness or weird after taste. One of the better “coffee” beers I’ve had. I wouldn’t mind buying this beer in a 4 or 6 pack.

bit the bullet and bought the can, seven bucks i think, pricey, but this is strong and nuanced and good, i just wish i had a buddy to share it with, this is a lot for one person, and i like the first half of the can a lot better than the second, it gets heavy and sweet, even though its not too sugary overall, a pint of this is just a big dose. its done with almond and vanilla, both appreciable in aroma and flavor, but not overdone either, this is rich but not overly decadent. i am bummed it doesnt have a little more head or life to it, quite still after the initial fizzing, leggy and dense, oily and deep, slick even. it smells and tastes great though, rich cocoa and roast to it, natural almond not an extract or an amaretto thing, i almost wish they got this almond character in a pale beer where it would stand out more, but its the highlight of this for me and is obvious but also super well integrated, awesome! the coffee is robust and thankfully a bit bitter to help with the grain sweetness thats exacerbated by the vanilla, and the booze, the coffee is needed, and it grounds this nicely, bitter and pungent, fresh enough, and good with everything else going on. its a little fudge or cake-like with the vanilla, a baked good, too much, but its all balanced nicely. slick and smooth to drink, a trace greasy maybe from some coffee oils, brown sugar and vanilla last through to the very end, nougat, faint smoke, semisweet chocolate chips, yummy. a nice conclusion to a fine little beer session. boozy, but not overly so. a big commitment as a solo mission, but a very good beer again from evil twin in this style.

16 oz can from alexsergio

Crane snifter
Here we go.

Deep, thick black pour, though not as black as some of ET's other darker beers, so definitely some different malts used. Reddish-brown head of 1 finger that diminishes to a thin ring after 2 minutes. Not really any lace but a few streaks of alcohol legs.

Aroma is huge on coffee and is definitely signature of Evil Twin coffee beers. I get the base of Biscotti Break without the adjuncts, it's very dark, very funky, acidic, and somewhat acrid. I then get some sweet almond and slight cinnamon and huge dark chocolate. A little marshmallow, too. This IS getting complex.

Flavor is slightly acrid roasted coffee, but just the right amount of burnt, with sweet vanilla, almond, fudge, and faint cinnamon. As it lays on the palate it just becomes orgasmic. Alcohol heat creeps in and completes the picture. Roast coffee, chocolate, hot cinnamon, and alcohol-soaked almonds finish out the profile.

Feel is pretty sharp and stabbing with high carbonation, but brings with it a semi-creaminess and nice slickness. Alcohol heat is very noticeable, but welcome. Ends roasty, dry, mildly acidic, hot.

Overall, wow, what a beer. This was a real treat. Incredible stuff. Thanks alexsergio!

A 1 pint can, canned on 1st February 2019. Poured into a snifter glass.

Appearance: Dark brown to black in colour with a one finger tanned head that dissipated fairly quickly but left lots of spotty lacing.

Aroma: Roasty, coffee, cocoa, chocolate, vanilla, with a hint of nuts.

Taste: Moderate sweetness, very light roast, bakers chocolate, vanilla, coffee and only a hint of nuts.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, full bodied with soft carbonation.

Overall: Sweetness, chocolate and vanilla seem to dominate, and there was coffee, but I was hoping for more roastiness and nuts to balance the sweetness.
