Double dry-hopped with Nelson and Wakatu hops. A modern, albeit thoughtful stab at one of the most influential Southern Californian IPA's. Notes of peach nectar, apricot, citrus zest and grape must. Subtle bitterness, light-medium bodied.

Sweet white-wine grape, tropical hoppy, and faint hint of citrusy-dank aromatics on this one! Taste follows with a juicy, grapefruit-citrus bitterness...some nutty notes show up and linger on the finish. As it warms, the nuttiness starts to show up a bit more...this seems to throw it out of balance and the flavors become more muddled and less distinct. This has decent depth and juicy mouthfeel to it.

a: murky, hazy dark burn orange and matte copper color. a hint of dark yellow as well. 1.5 finger solid off-white head. looks like i could balance a coin on it, though i probably wouldn't because i'm cheap
s: musty white grapes. earthy tea leaf. candied strawberry and burnt caramel. a hint of lemongrass and clementines. something slightly crackery in here as well
t: white grapes, terraform, and some grass. apricot, orange peel, and a little bit of a woody note...i'm getting a little wet woody note as well. tangerine, peach and clementine in here too. a little bit of sweetness from clementines as well
m: medium mouthfeel with moderate carbonation
o: pretty solid NEIPA and use of Nelson. I've had better, but I've had worse. Nice, earthy notes in here

Pours a bright orange glow capped by a solid finger of semi-dense, rocky head. Decent retention and lacing follow. Aromas up front of white wine, and citrus. When you speak of Nelson, I will know immediately from the nose whether or not you're in the general ballpark of execution. This is a promising start for a beer that is attempting to pay homage to the OG of Nelson-brewed beers. Taste follows with additional notes of nectarine, orange peel, tangelo, and white grapes. The feel is medium-bodied, and somewhat prickly. I am totally digging that someone would construct a beer in what ultimately feels like the biggest sign of respect. That said, it's a reinforced reminder that nothing will ever be as good as the original.
