Drank from a 1 pint can purchased on Tavour
Canned on 10/24/24
Served in a tulip
A thin, frothy, bright white crown rose above the cloudy, pinkish-tinged peach colored body. The head quickly dissolved, leaving behind a fine, lasting collar. Tiny dots of lacing blanketed the glass, and later a wall of fine sediment was visible as well. A slurry of large white and crimson colored particles collected in the bottom of the vessel.
The aroma was amazing and totally reminded me of a piña colada. Pineapple dominated initially. Some coconut was noticeable as well. Bit of orange juice too. Sweet overall but no more sweet than the actual frozen cocktail. As the beer warmed, both the coconut and the overall aroma intensified. Hint of milky sweetness.
The flavor profile was very similar to the aroma but definitely also had a pleasant sourness to it. Pineapple came through big time up front. Nice balance of sweet and tart. Some coconut was noticeable as well. Sweet citrus notes appeared in the center. Orange and/or tangerine came to mind. Nice zippy acidity. More lingering pineapple and crisp acidity on the back end and in the finish.
The mouthfeel was juicy and slick, like a fruit smoothie. Somewhat creamy and smooth on the palate with a fine, subtle effervescence.
The Sour Adaptation of Root & Branch’s...Volume 2 is a fantastic fruited sour that tasted nearly identical to an orange juiced spiked piña colada. This would definitely hit the spot on a hot summer afternoon or a trip to the beach.
