Evil Twin does a pretty damn good job at balancing the sweetness in these Fruited Kettle Sours, but the addition of vanilla, marshmallow, and cocoa does make me a bit nervous with this one since I don’t think I’ve had many “sweet sours” from them. Still, I’m sure it’ll be enjoyable regardless. Let’s get right into it

Pours an opaque maroon with 3 fingers of frothy pinkish white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing

The nose is definitely promising some tartness, though it is a bit one dimensional. I’m picking up on aromas of jammy blueberry, tart raspberry, vanilla, lightly toasted marshmallow, lemon juice, and light milk chocolate

Well I shouldn’t have been concerned, because this cleans up the sweetness with an awesome tartness towards the end. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting jammy blueberry, tart blackberry, vanilla bean ice cream, cocoa powder, light marshmallow, and lemon zest. The swallow brings notes of cocoa powder, jammy blackberry, vanilla, toasted marshmallow, lemon juice, and tart raspberry

A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth beer. Finishes a bit sticky but the tartness dries it out over time

It’s quite the simple beer, but it’s well done and finds a nice balance

 

Sweet and slightly tart blueberry/raspberry, hint of vanilla-marshmallow, and a coconut raspberry zinger nose on this one! Taste follows exactly with a slightly briny, hint of white chocolate finish. This is a little thinner than I was expecting...with these ingredients, a smoothie-like mouthfeel would have accentuated things beautifully. Still very tasty!
