A: Now I see why they say "roll the can" before the pour. A very light and rusty toned orange turns a Dr. Pepper soda like coloring on the finish, with the dense syrup following suit. Creamy beige head is one inch, milky soft and smooth, and very well lasting. Beautiful Dr. Pepper coloring, reddish highlights with tons of sticky carbonation bubbles on the bottom of the chalice. Slight thin veil of lacing around the vessel. The coloring really nails it here for me, mostly thanks in part to the added syrup.
S: Dr. Pepper black cherries arise on the nose, sweet all day with faint vanilla background. Sweet caramel sugars are added. Boy, they really nailed the aroma as well, a perfect representation of the visual on the can. Its the Dr. Pepper syrup I tell you.
T: Sugary vanilla and sweetness of cherries and soda syrup. Whipped cream, caramel sugars and lightly toasted notes. More, sweet then sour, perhaps some hints of chocolate I am picking up.
M: Milky soft and thick body, cushy and marshmallowy. Softly carbonated with a great smooth feel that you just have to experience for yourself. Soft like a whipped cream smoothie.
O: Overall the expectations were high on this one considering what they planned to achieve, by the lush float picture on the can, and by the brewery. Happy to say I was not let down in the least. Evil twin delivers a daring interpretation of a kettle sour, that is more ice cream float then beer. A dessert beer, sugary, with whipped cream and vanilla accents and big notes of dr. pepper cherries. A sweet milky, cherry float that is more at home at a soda shop then brewery. Not every one will be happy, complain its not a real sour, blah , blah, blah, but its a fun drink overall, breaks the barriers of expectations, is daring and well executed by a brewery well know for finely crafted beers. Most will have trouble being convinced this is even a beer if they didn't know any better. Easy drinkability, sweet cherry finish, and out of the box ordinary.
