Pours from the can dark, hazy yellow, producing a foamy 1" head that almost immediately disappears into nothingness. Nose is cracked coconuts and suntan oil; I'm getting almonds as well, but that may be the power of suggestion more than reality. Taste is...surprising. This plays rather sour to me, so I don't know if my can was infected or if I'm misreading what the flavor profile is supposed to be. It's not unpleasant - something like a sharp lemon pudding with maybe a hint of vanilla - but it in no way is the beer that's advertised. Haven't read about any infected batches, so have to assume this is just a miss.

Served in a pint glass from the can.

Appearance: Hazy but dark gold colored brew with a white head which rose just about one finger's length off the body.

Smell: Deep vanilla meshed with yellow cake and coconut smoothie scent which makes love to your nose.

Taste: Ok at first I wasn't amazed, it's a complex sweet but not overly done. Nutty coconut with hints of deep but mellow vanilla. Has a subtle yeast undertone but compliments the beer.

Mouth: Soft carbonation, smooth light malt finish coming off a touch sweet at the end.

Overall: Good brew, not my favorite of the Ryste series from ETNYC but will definitely be a game changer in dessert IPAs if there is such a thing. Salud!
