Pouring a deep mahogany with an fluffy head, this classic style has tasting notes of ester, banana bread, clementine peel, & finish with a subtle sourdough aroma.

One year old. Can to wine glass.
L: Pours a muddy dark brown with a fluffy light brown head that leaves plenty of lacing. Loads of floaters all over the glass.
S: Very malty and bready with notes of brown sugar, caramel and bananas. Slightly sweet.
T: Caramel, brown sugar and ripe bananas. Very malty, quite sweet and a bit bready.
F: Creamy and sticky with a medium carbonation.
O: Somewhere between a Belgian Dubbel and a German Malzbier. Even though it looked a bit strange with all the floaters, I quite enjoyed it. Nice American interpretation of a classic Belgian style.

A: The beer is very hazy dark brown in color. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of clementines are present in the nose along with notes of brown bread and spices.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of banana esters and subtle hints of sweetness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This dubbel is much spicer compared to other beers in the style, which makes it unique.

Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.
Deep garnet pour, finger of khaki foam on top. The nose isn't much of an extrovert, but when it decides to express itself it does so with light nutmeg, clove, and toffee. The taste brings in more clove, some toasted biscuit, light banana peel, brown sugar, and, when all is said and done, a minor bit of soap in the aftertaste. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fairly smooth feel. Not bad, but not the dubbel I'd go to first or second.
