It begins with a problematic and unattractive pour to empty the contents of a pint can. The target, a clear glass liter mug. There's obviously plenty of carbonation, so the pour was a ginger one. Still, the ever expanding stark white foam of modern IPAs reared its ugly head. Within minutes, all that foam begins to recede unevenly and it's not pretty. The glass lacing is ridiculously irregular. The brew is dull dirty blond and it's approaching murky. The smell is starchy sweet without much distinctive hopping. It drinks almost like a plain donut tastes, without the fried in fat aspect. It's grainy sweet and the grains don't seem to be very complex. What hops that can be found add almost no bitterness, so this is unbalanced, especially for a double dry hopped IPA. It tastes more like a plain Graham cracker than anything else. As disappointing as the looks, aroma and tastes are, this is commendably smooth and full bodied. It brings its 8% ABV as unnoticed as any ale of its potency, one of the best at doing so. Only a little too much stickiness from the oats keep this from a perfect moutfeel. But, IPAs aren't just about mouthfeel, there's butterscotch pudding for that. This isn't horrible, but it's far short of being a good IPA of any variety. It speaks way too softly.

another wordy named ipa from these guys that hits as distinctive, enjoyed this a lot even though its quite clearly past peak freshness, still thankful when i find evil twin beers around, such spotty access here i have to be glad to have been able to drink this at all. this is super creamy feeling, uniquely flavored, and i wish i knew what the hops were in it. its real dense looking, milky and thick right away but full of chalky sediment toward the bottom, we have to leave about a half inch behind in the can, but what is here looks relatively appealing, ive certainly seen sloppier from these guys. the head is shaving cream texture, pure white, and lasting, nice starchy base on this one filling it out instead of sweeter or richer malts. the aroma and flavor are less bitter than anticipated at this strength, less green too, sure there is some light fade to this, but i get strong cantaloupe and key lime notes, a hint of coconut, orange sherbet, and juicy lemon, really fruity and modern and good, less oily feeling than a lot of these, mostly dry hopped it seems, huge dry hop too, just mild bitterness at the end, white peach, clementine, under ripe strawberry, and papaya, super yummy. i dont mind all the body because its airy too and its real dry, a rarity in the style so even though this looks a little unrefined, it doesnt feel that way on my palate. would have loved to catch this at peak freshness, but its still drinking very well and might be the best hoppy beer ive had from these guys in a long time.

Can dated 12/8/21 into pint glass. Pours a quite hazy medium gold with a modest off-white head. Good lacing. Initial impression is citrus, pineapple, mango, grapefruit, and a balancing caramel malt sweetness. Mouthfeel is soft and pillow-y. Finish is sweet citrus, nice and clean, fading to a slight bitterness. Overall a good but not great DIPA.
