another ddh juice bomb from these guys with a long wordy name, another one i am thankful has come to the west, but another one lacking slightly on freshness despite only recently appearing here. galaxy and mosaic, real sharp can as always. the pour is pretty gloopy, not too dull in town, pale orange with a lot of haze and body, but still lively headed and without visible sediment, its the density that makes it look heavy. the aroma shows just a little hop fade, but also hops dosed to high heaven, an absolute ton of the galaxy to me, to the point where its delicate key lime, white tea, and lemongrass properties are almost gone, instead its a little green, resinous, and almost spicy, unexpected from this varietal. the mosaic is there with its canned pineapple familiarity, a light lemon note to it too here, and more generic citrus. the base smells a little raw, wheaty but dry. the flavor is nice, cool hop profile for sure, a little something different from these two strains. i do get a little lime note now, some white grape, light dill and honeysuckle herbaceous character too, and a lot more grain than i could smell, this is pretty malty, pale enough, but weighty, starchy, full of protein, and quite heavy even without much sweetness. the yeast is there too a little bit, slightly english to me with all this malt, compatible enough. very light bitterness, a little overdone hop bite, but overall pretty appealing on the hop side, just a heavier beer than anticipated at this very drinkable abv. some of these are starting to run together, but you can pretty much always count on the being robust, modern, and fun. my wife liked this one a little better than i did...

Canned 12/30/21 (5 months old)
Appearance: Pours a nearly completely hazy (15% clarity) light and relatively pale yellow color with a mild white head. SRM of 6-7. (4.25)
Aroma: Strong aromas of juicy citrus, starburst, berries, sweet pineapple with some slight juicy pine notes. (4.25)
Flavor: Strong and juicy flavors of orange and citrus, sweet pineapple, and pine. Sweet and tropical melon, berries, and pineapple to finish. (4.25)
Feel: Medium-bodied. Good carbonation. A juicy, sweet, but also some pine on the finish. Very balanced. (4.25)
Compared to Old Alesmith Tropical Marmalade Hazy IPA 6/7/22: Pours a hazier and lighter color, milder head. Stronger aromas. More juicy orange, citrus, pineapple, pine, and juice all around. Less resinous and sweet marmalade notes.
Overall: A surprisingly decent IPA for being old, a laborious name, and finding it in the dollar bin. Nice and juicy citrus flavors. Juicy, yet light enough. Some pine, and the flavors here are quite pleasant, but don't fall in one category. The whole beer is balanced. I found this a surprise for 5 months old. (Rating: 4.25)
