just the second beer ive ever had (that i know of) from the nyc location, so sick to get this in idaho, awesome can too, totally different aesthetic from this location, the art makes me want a cola and i dont even like soda. this contrasts wildly with the cola sour from the twelve ounce can that was actually made with cola syrup and artificial color and all that, which was so cheap tasting and bad we had to dump it down the drain, this is leagues better, what i was hoping that one would be, more cola ingredients popping, and the marshmallow and cinnamon make this insanely unique, lots to like about it, still super strange, even challenging beer, fascinating. super weird pour on this, the head instantly dissipates and its sort of murky brassy colored, but the can is graded down to dark brown in the bottom, like each little but more i pour looks more like actual cola, like whatever cola element it was brewed with has largely settled out, and it was too gross to want to drink, so i poured until it got yucky and stopped. the nose is incredible, i never thought marshmallows smelled like much until i drank this beer this weekend, but here they are all soft and sweet with a vanilla hint. the cinnamon stands out too, sweet and warm but not autumnal or spicy really. the sourness is well tampered, or perhaps just balanced by all the residual sugar this has, and the grain is light. the flavor is awesome, really tastes like cola but then has the frothy richness of the marshmallows and the earthy cinnamon on the finish, a gorgeous combination of flavors i cant help but be impressed by, it might actually be made with cola, because i dont get like a mix of its constituent parts really, the extra cinnamon and marshmallow stand out a lot but the soda is just soda to me, just somehow miles better than the other one. not much malt in taste but a ton of residual sugar, too sweet to drink a lot of, not quite cut by acidity as much as it could be, so that slows me down, and its under carbonated by any measure, but the taste is awesome and truly one of a kind, and thats really what matters most. i expected to hate this after hating the other cola sour, but it rules. perhaps not objectively amazing beer all up, but this really did it for me, my wife too, super cool release, desserty and sort of overly modern, but no denying its delicious! like a cola ice cream float.
