Pulled out our favorite blend of ice cream for the first edition in our freezer fresh sundae series. Strawberry & vanilla soft serve, chocolate, ’n waffle cone.

Enjoyed at Evil Twin in Ridgewood Queens. Pure black pour with a firm a creamy dark beige head. It smells like a Neapolitan sandwich, though I believe the orientation is towards a triple scoop Neapolitan on a waffle cone. It does taste good with the strawberry coming out on top in terms of each sip. It was served at a cool temperature but not really cold. Obviously this is the standard of the brewery considering it's the taproom but I think I would have liked it a lot more if it was nearly ice cream cold.
The 12 percent is well masked but definitely comes out a bit in the bitter malts. It's fairly thick and a little bit lower on the carbonation spectrum, almost like a nitro but a bit more carbonated. The flavors kind of come off as artificial which might be elevated by some of the bitter notes. Overall it was rewarding to try though not my favorite. Those who enjoy thicker feeling stouts would like this.
