This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.

This smells like cleanly roasted malt, dark chocolate, espresso, dark fruit, oaky spice, and a hint of maple.

This is much less sweet than I would have assumed an Evil Twin stout would be – it’s burly, roasty, with lots of oaky and leathery barrel spice, and just the lightest kiss of maple on the back end. I like this more than the adjunct version of the same release – but that’s just where I am on my stout preferences currently.

This is medium bodied, creamy, and rich, with a really nice drinkability and not much in the way of booziness.

This was an enjoyable beer with a very well done barrel character.
