Oh, Evil Twin, it’s been quite a while since we last met. It’s time for a reintroduction by way of Tavour. This fruit tart inspired Kettle Sour sounds quite interesting. I find that the addition of graham cracker in the style can provide a nice contrast. Let’s crack it open and see what we’re working with
Pours a deep reddish purple with 2 fingers of creamy pink head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
There’s definitely a nice sweetness in the nose, but it’s still relatively balanced. I’m picking up on aromas of tart raspberry, juicy strawberry, vanilla ice cream, lemon zest, honey, graham cracker, and light jammy blueberry
It’s quite similar in taste, though with an added punch of tartness that cuts through the back end. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting juicy strawberry, jammy blueberry, lemon juice, graham cracker, raspberry, and light vanilla. The swallow brings notes of tart raspberry, lemon juice, dehydrated strawberry, graham cracker, vanilla, sweet custard, jammy blueberry, and a touch of honey
A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes a tad sticky but dries out over time
This is very good. Not overly sweet like some can be but not bracingly tart either
