375ml waxed and capped bottle into Side Project stemware.
Pours dense like motor oil. No head, no lace, and perhaps the thickest mocha legs I've ever seen. Nose is molasses, booze, chocolate, and sweet soy sauce. Very aromatic. Beer opens chocolate, fudge, and molasses. Warming on the palate produces notes of sweet soy sauce, raisin, and prunes. More syrup and fruity barrel notes towards the finish. Rye character really comes through in the aftertaste. Body is full with low carbonation. Slick, dense, and chewy on the palate and goes down warm and rich with a lingering aftertaste.
This beer is near perfect as far as barrel aged imperial stouts go. Incredible depth of flavor, great complexity, and the mouthfeel to more than carry the day.
