The pour is stout black with a tall brown head that leaves rings of lacing.
The taste is a little bit almond, a little toast and a lot of coffee. Some chocolate. It’s solid, just not amazing.
The feel is just a little thinner than I expected, but well within the standard.
OA, nice beer.

L: Pours oily and near-black. Doesn't form any appreciable head. A very faint effervescent swirl but otherwise a placid and unremarkable appearance. Held to the light, this beer is a thick opaque chocolate.
S: Opens with almonds and vanilla. There are notes of dark chocolate or cacao, roast coffee, and malt.
T: Starts off with a shot of coffee and dark chocolate. A hint of bourbon and vanilla. Some light char and earthiness, and a smattering of roasted malt. Not getting much almonds on the palate.
B: Full bodied. Rich, sticky, and decadent mouthfeel. Lingers. Heavier than average. Has some alcohol burn.
O: A little more almond might elevate this beer. But it's quite solid.

Solid head production and decent retention.
Super rich aroma, swimming in classic stout notes. Molasses, espresso, almond, chocolate, moderate char, toast, caramel, prune.
Thick and smooth on the palate. Very approachable despite the massive ABV.
Flavor follows the nose. It's far less bitter than EMJ, definitely leaning closer toward the IBB series. At the same time, the coffee isn't particularly prominent, winding up rather complementary in the mix. Tasting notes include vanilla, almond, caramel, chocolate, prune, espresso, pecan.

From the bottom of the can: "23110 13:57"
Appearance: It is a black bodied beer with a medium-sized dark brown head. The head has velvety looking foam with tight bubbles and very good retention. The can states that this is "12.5% ALC/VOL" so it is highly impressive that the beer would even have such a well-formed head, let alone one with this high level of retention. It has a long and shallow sheet of lacing that coats the glass which is equally impressive. Eventually it does drop off to a sheet of fine bubbles across the surface but it looks fantastic while it lasts.
Aroma: There is a very mild charred aroma. Not much going on in the nose. The char scent that exists is only barely there.
Taste: Up front there is a bit of a fruity flavor with notes of plum and a flavor that's kind-of like cherry. The center of the palate has a lighter version of the cherry and plum notes but there is a more earthy tone to it which comes across as an old tea flavor. There isn't much flavor towards the back of the mouth. The aftertaste has a very light earthy note with a larger cherry flavor. Alcohol pops up from time to time when drinking the beer but it is never a detractor. The flavor of the alcohol comes across as standard ethanol.
Mouthfeel: It is full bodied and it coats the palate exceptionally well. At every point while drinking this beer, it feels decadent and luxurious. It has a silk-like texture. Although the label on the can states that this is "12.5% ALC/VOL" it drinks exceptionally well.
Overall: The label on the can states that this is "BREWED WITH COFFEE, ALMOND, & VANILLA." These ingredients don't manifest in this beer at all. This version of Biscotti Break seems to just have a bit more alcohol but that's about it. It doesn't even have the chocolate character that the standard version does. Aside from the lacking aroma it's a really good Imperial Stout if you discount the absent advertised ingredients. I wouldn't recommend it over a normal Imperial Biscotti Break and I doubt I would buy it again unless regular Imperial Biscotti Break or Imperial Doughnut Break weren't available.
