Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a thin khaki head that dissipates to patches with light lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, milk chocolate, maple syrup and light nuts. Flavor is mildly toasted malt, milk chocolate, maple syrup and nuts. Lingering chocolate and maple finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A quite flavorful rendition of an uncommon style. Has the lightly toasted malt I'd expect in a brown ale, but with some really solid chocolate character. The maple and nuts (walnuts were used, but the flavor is generic) listed as adjuncts are a nice addition, both nicely integrated and mellow. A little sweet, but far short of a pastry ale. Nicely done. Don't know how the NYC Evil Twin fits in to story, but they appear to be producing the high level of dark ales I expected from ET.

16oz can from Tavour. Dark brown pour, thin cap of beige head. Roasty aroma, coffee, chocolate. Taste is sweet, chocolate, muted maple flavors and minor nutty character. Creamy and slick feel.
