Over the past few months of Tavour boxes I ended up with 2 very similar beers; this and their Greenhouse Maibock. Aside from the slight variation in abv, I’m curious to see how these 2 Maibocks differ. I’m drinking them side by side but I imagine the difference will be minimal. Let’s get into it
Pours a cloudy pale gold with 3 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves decent lacing. This one looks fresher even though I know it’s not
The nose is sweet but balanced with bright and floral notes. I'm picking up on aromas of biscuity malt, white pepper, sweet honey, lemon zest, orange zest, grassy hops, and toffee. It's a hair more exciting than the Maibock
It continues the trend of floral and herbal bitterness but never overwhelming. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting biscuity malt, white pepper, floral hops, cracker, orange blossom honey, toffee, black tea, and lemon zest. The swallow brings notes of herbal hops, biscuity malt, orange zest, sweet honey, dark bread, black tea, light pine, and grass. Not too far off from the fresher one now
A medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a smooth beer. Finishes mostly dry with a balanced bitterness. Slightly less drinkable than the other
This is a very close comparison. They are both quite good despite the fact that I don't love the style, but this one is just a hair better

16oz can from Tavour. Cloudy golden amber, silky cream head stays around . Malty aroma, bready, light caramel. Taste adds some bittering hops up front, toffee, dark bread. Hoppy tingle lingers. No sweetness, but a really full feel.
