poured from a 500mL bottle into a levante brewing snifter. pours inky and black with virtually no head. cinnamon dominates the nose and taste on this one. there’s some nice bourbon sting on the nose as well but i honestly can’t tell if it’s bourbon or cinnamon i’m getting that’s causing my nostrils to sting. the taste isn’t exactly balanced with the cinnamon still dominating but it does offer a more satisfying flavor combination than the nose. there’s more chocolate and vanilla and while i don’t exactly pick up on maple there is something about the maple bourbon barrels that adds to and compliments the cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate. medium-full mouthfeel. it’s carbed (or lack there of) perfectly but it’s not super heavy on the tongue or in the finish. i had a little higher hopes for this one. the maple bourbon barrels paired with the additives had me excited and while it’s still an enjoyable experience, a little more balance could have helped this go along way. in short, and again, it’s a lot of cinnamon
