Pouring a rich, dark amber… this winter-esque brew has bold notes of malts & spices.

From the bottom of the can: "CANNED ON 11/30/23 11:29"
Appearance: The beer is a tawny brown color and it is nearly opaque. Some light comes through the edges of the glass lightening up the color a bit, but otherwise it is opaque. It has a short head that has an off-white tobacco stained yellow color. The head is short-lived and it fades out to a still surface. No lacing.
Aroma: Getting very close to the surface of the glass and cupping over it, there is a slight aroma of figs. It is very hard to get an aroma out of this beer but what barely comes through is nice.
Taste: Up front there are notes of dates, figs, and a touch of brown sugar. It transforms into a bit of a toffee flavor towards the middle of the mouth. The flavors overall are very light and it tastes a bit watered down. Nothing towards the back of the palate, and it finishes clean.
Mouthfeel: It is light bodied and refreshing. These aren't typically qualities that a person looks for in a Winter Warmer. It feels thin and watered down. It is very drinkable in the way that water is drinkable.
Overall: This might be a Winter Warmer if you are wintering in a hot region and are looking for something light and refreshing. It definitely lives up to its namesake, that Evil Twin doesn't know what a Winter Warmer is. It is light on flavor and aroma, but the biggest disappointment is the lack of body or presence on the palate. I would not buy it again and I would highly recommend against buying this.
It's very disappointing to see this from a brewery who makes full and flavorful beers like Imperial Biscotti Break and Imperial Doughnut Break.
