Evil Twin took Heaven Hill Bourbon Barrels used to age BLiS Maple, aged an Imperial Stout for 22 months in them, then finished the beer by conditioning on Vanilla Beans. 12% abv

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells very, very, sweet, with tons of maple, very sweet milk chocolate, vanilla frosting, and caramel.
It tastes like they left half of the maple in the barrel before filling this with stout – it’s just so syrupy, and way too sweet. The vanilla doesn’t help – it comes across so cake-like, so frosting-like, that it all just melds together into a desserty maelstrom. There’s very little barrel outside of the maple itself.
This is thick, too syrupy, and not strongly carbed.
I expect a lot more out of both Evil Twin and Twelve Percent – this disappointed for sure.
