16oz can from Tavour. Clear, light amber pour, one finger frothy white head. Sweet, malty aroma, woody notes. Taste is malty, toffee, nutty. Sweet up front, bitter in the back. Creamy smooth and a dry finish.

Over the past few months of Tavour boxes I ended up with 2 very similar beers; this and their Greenhouse Helles Bock. Aside from the slight variation in abv, I’m curious to see how these 2 Maibocks differ. I’m drinking them side by side but I imagine the difference will be minimal. Let’s get into it

Pours a cloudy deep gold with 3 fingers of soapy white head that slowly fades to a cap and leaves nice lacing. A hair darker than its less fresh relative

The nose is sweet and grainy with lighter fruity and floral notes. I'm picking up on aromas of sweet honey, raw grain, biscuity malt, grassy hops, lemon zest, white pepper, light caramel, and golden raisin. I slightly prefer the brighter vibes of the other

It's less sweet in taste thankfully, bringing it closer to its cousin. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting bready malt, orange zest, grassy hops, lemon zest, sweet honey, toasted grain, toffee, and light pine. The swallow brings notes of bready malt, grassy hops, white pepper, black tea, burnt orange, toffee, lemon zest, and sweet honey

A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a smooth yet crisp beer. Finishes mostly dry and balanced. The lowered abv helps with drinkability

This is a very close comparison. They are both quite good despite the fact that I don't love the style, but I slightly prefer the Helles Bock
