this is a banger of a can of beer, really quality base pils, subtle but definite oak, good drinker, fun and refined, love that these guys can make bat poop crazy beer one day and churn out something like this the next. the one side of the label says evil twin nyc, the other side says made in ct, so thats a thing, but its great liquid, cool label too. bubbly and eager beer, blonde, light haze in the second half, high white head, easy to rouse, consistent carbonation. nose and taste have vanilla and tannins from the wood, maybe new oak spirals or something, not quite barrel aged depth, and the noble hops part of this still hits as fresh, and its easy to appreciate how good the base pils is, really solid, european all the way, well balanced and supremely professionally lagered, so proper. i do get notes of herbal tea, citrus, and white bread, soapy sudsy fruit, but this is an exercise in mellowness, ease, not about packing complexities, and while a spendy pint can like this feels unsustainable by nature, the liquid itself really is something i could have indefinitely, like six or seven cans seems like a fine dose, but who can afford it?! love the body the wood adds, the visceral lager character, and the enhanced length the oak brings, its just so good overall, refreshing but interesting too, warms up pleasantly, and is one of the better beers in this wooded lager space ive known in awhile. another please!

A fairly clear pale gold appearance with a thin but lasting head.
Medium carbonation with about a medium body.
Aroma is just about everything I would expect to show up for a pilsner. There is something unusual, not unpleasant but comes off like fruit of some sort.
Taste doesn't stray too far from the aroma.
Very mild sweetness, grain, cereal, yeast and a mix of earthy and mild fruit.
Definitely is better as it warms as it becomes more flavorful and interesting. Definitely worth a try

Aroma is German malts/grains/lager yeast and mild stone fruit/sweetness. The flavor is big stone fruit/dark fruit, malts/grains and a spicy Noble hop finish.

clear golden color with a decent foamy white head.
The aroma is very mild caramel and biscuits. The taste is also a bit mild biscuits and honey with caramel and vanilla notes, slightly sweet, very mild bitterness.
The body is light, good carbonation level, smooth and very drinkable. Altogether, this is a bit different for a Pils, very mild bitterness, apparently mellowed by the oak conditioning, still this is a tasty and refreshing brew, a good summer cooler for all occasions and most foods, well done.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, straw-yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It left minimal lacing. It smelled of caramel, bread crust and toffee. Sweet caramel taste with a mild bitterness.

Not bad. The socks stayed on though.
It would have been great to taste the original pilsner before it was conditioned to have a better point of reference.
Poured from a chilled can into a snifter. An appropriate and a fairly pretty medium straw gold color. A decent amount of foam.
The aroma is extremely subdued. Sorta light breadiness alright a touch of honey.
The taste is very mellow, but quite enjoyable. Oak conditioning sure took the noble hop edge off altogether, not sure I like that. Anyway, the main taste profile is more on a bready and light malty side. Sugar cookie like, almost. If you sip it, you'll definitely taste more nuances.
It was an interesting buy and experience but it's not my thing. A pilsner should taste like a pilsner. Not some hipster experiment.
Thumbs down.

German Pils style with an American twist. The beer pours golden with a mild bready malt nose. The flavor has a sweetness, aptly positioned as "honey biscuits" by the brewer. Conditioning in American oak foudres (there's the twist!) mellows the pilsner bite for a mild, easy-down-the-hatch warm weather quencher.

Hazed pale straw with a finger of white head that leaves a decent crown and modest lacing.
Clean, dry, lightly woody aroma.
It’s maintains some crispness, but has a sweet kiss to it mid-palate that reminds me more of a Bohemian pilsner. There’s a distinctive oaken dryness to the finish. A little nuttiness develops if held in the mouth too long.
Full bodied and slick for the style, with nice, tight carbonation.
Very pleasant, fairly unique take on a pilsner — all without getting to far afield from a classic taste.
