Orangey brown murky body, shortlived tan head that settles into a wispy collar. Big toffee and dark fruit in the nose, minor barley and earth in the background. Taste has the toffee, plum, and date right away, then watery malts with toffee tones, then the barley snaps into place before a very sweet and thin finish with a hint of orange peel. Feel is thin and watery outside of the 2 action moments in the sip previously mentioned.

Copenhagen 12/10 2025. 47,3 cl can from Kihoskh, Sønder Boulevard, Kbh. V. Cupped hands holding barley grains on the can.
Pours unclear murky, dark amber with a small white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as a thin rim of foam running along the side of the glass. No lacing to speak of.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sugary sweet, malty odor. Brown sugar, toffee and caramel. Dark fruits. Raisins and marinated plums. Dark alcohol.
Low carbonation. Thick, oily, soft, viscous, fat, almost flat texture.
Flavor is intense with a heavy sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is lightly bitter with a strong sweet, looming undertone. Finish is vinous like port wine.
Potent cup of barley wine, Strong and sweet as hell - or heaven.

Brewers: bring us more barleywines! I promise I’ll buy them. This one arrives in a 16 oz. can.
The pour is toasted amber mixed with hazed orange. The nose is soft toffee, sparse.
The Barley Connoisseur: so this what one tastes like without a barrel! I swear the sub-species is growing rarer by the fortnight. Toffee; but thin. That’s the review.
Not much going on here. It’s a basic bitch barleywine; just fine.
