First had: on tap at Farmers' Cabinet, Philly, PA
Part of an 8-beer series brewed by Evil Twin with Terry of Cabinet Artisanal, for Philly Beer Week 2012, that was further part of the 3x8 series that included Cabinet and Stillwater. Each of the three brewers took a base beer and "tweaked" it in 8 different ways. The "kini" series used Bikini as a base, and was brewed at 10 IBU intervals from 10-80.
Monokini was 10 IBUs.
I've gotta say, these beers were not too impressive, and all basically tasted the same, with extremely subtle differences in taste.
Much like the others in the series, Monokini poured a cloudy yellow color with a thin wispy white head. Aroma of light hops, light citrus...body odor? *sniffs pits* Nope, it's not me. Light taste, pale malts, mild funk, a touch of sweetness followed by a touch of citric sour and a wave of metallic bitterness. Light body, on the watery side. A bit rough going down, as the bartender warned me.
