Sampled 10-2006. Direct from one of the brewers: this is what they are classifying as a "dark saison". Pours a dark amber with a lot of lacing. Cashews on the nose? Taste is mildly sweet with a thick malty edge. You can taste a bit of alcohol when it warms up. Smooth with a slight bitter tone. It is very drinkable if you like a somewhat heavier style.

I had this on tap at the Chama River, Albuquerque. It's a rotating seasonal brew - I have written that it's 8.3% ABV, which is extremely well hidden by this very well-crafted beer. wow. may I say it again. wow. It poured dark reddish-amber-brown in color, very aromatic, mainly of yeast and hops. It had a bitter kind of citrus taste and spice that just kept complexing.
