On tap at Lovin' Cup in Henrietta, NY.
Pours a dark black, with a tight foamy head, and a good amount of lacing.
Smells more black than IPA, really- chocolate, roasted malt, and some smoke, with a bit of pine in the background.
I know this one is fresh, but it's still notable how muted the hop presence is on this one. Some pine, maybe a bit of grapefruit, and bigger presence akin to a porter- and a watery porter at that. There are some nice chocolate and coffee flavors here, but the flavor seems to fall flat near the end for whatever reason. It certainly has it's moments, but this one just fails to come together as a cohesive whole.
This is medium bodied, with a slightly watery finish, and a creamy mouthfeel. This has a medium level of carbonation.
Definitely not better than the Skunk. This wasn't an improvement.
