Bought from Beers of the World on 5/20/17. Served cold in a pilsener glass. Coppery amber with a creamy offwhite head, decent lacing. Aroma of toasted caramel. Taste is the same. Mouthfeel is decent. The beer is a little sweet and under hopped for me.

L: Cloudy amber with a big creamy beige head. Excellent retention and lacing.
S: Very grassy, grainy, and almost metallic; also very sweet caramel/toffee malt leaning toward sweet cherry or pomegranate or some type of canned fruity sweetness in syrup. Smells like a slightly skunked California common/steam beer.
T: Lots of caramel and toffee upfront with some of that canned cherry/plum syrup thing. Candied red apples as well.
Toasty and biscuity in the middle with a grainy, metallic sensation. Finishes off quite bitter with lots of grass and herbs, but it's not very dry and lingers with some residual sugars coating the mouth.
F: Medium-full bodied, well-carbonated, but a little too much residual sweetness leaves it feeling coarse and thick.
O: I think I know where they were going with this one. It seems like a California common and not a typical amber, but it remains poorly executed.

A: [3.50] The bottle lists the ABV (5.5%). I can't find any kind of date info. Slightly clouded abmer color. Forms a nice dense 1 1/2 fingers of white head.
S: [3.50] Bright hoppy scents, some caramel and bread from the malts. Doesn't come across immediately as an obvious lager.
T: [2.50] Something bracing and metallic right out of the gate. Then something like dirty dish water. I can tell there are other (better) flavors under there but they are getting stomped out badly. They start to improve over time. Caramel, apple and breadiness.
M: [2.75] Below medium bodied.
O: [2.75] The initial taste is like brushing your teeth then eating a grapefruit. I kept sipping and sipping and hoping for something better. It didn't really come. This is not a good beer.

Pours hazy and oragey amber with a khaki color head that fell slowly enough and did last well. some creamy some looser bubbles. Nose is malty with an almost nutty quality to it. No hops at all except for earth. then you start to notice a little cool scent form them way far off. The drink is powerful with malt but hops are not on the palate except for earth and bitterness. I do get a tiny bit of cool herbal like mint in the aftertaste but there is a strong bitterness. It really dominates. The malt can't hold up the beer without any hop herbal to compliment it and there was even a little citrusy note to these that is struggling to be seen it give s a little astringency too.

On tap at Three Heads Brewery in Rochester, NY.
This has a darkish amber color, with a small head, and a good level of lacing.
This smells minerally and "hard' with a stale bread aroma, and some grassy hops.
There is definitely something inherently off about this one- I just don't like it. There's a minerally bitter character that is quite unpleasant, with a stale, slightly sweet malt character, and a hint of hop character. It just seems poorly constructed.
This is lighter bodied, with a bitter unpleasant finish.
This is the first beer I've had from their new system, and the first newly designed beer from them. It's a bad start.
