On tap at Blu Wolf Bistro in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a basically clear light brown, with a small head, and a good amount of lacing.
Smells like astringent bitter pine, vegetal hops, and overwhelming malt. Dis gun b gud.
Most of the new beers Three Heads has put out of their new facility have just not been good. This is just too vegetal and bitter to be all that drinkable or tasty. It just feels too raw. I don't need it to be super juicy and fruity, it can be bitter and piney- that's fine. However the bitterness here is just ugly, vegetal, and almost oniony, with an overriding malt backbone that just clashes with everything else. It's not really enjoyable.
This is medium bodied, fairly crisp, but astringently bitter on the finish.
