Poured from a bomber into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Dark brown pour... nearly black with massive fluffy off-white head. Nice lacing.
S: Oak, smoke, and a dash of bourbon.
T.F: Just like it smells. The smoke has mellowed after 3 years in the cellar but is still noticeable. Roasted grains and oak. Mild vanilla and faint bourbon. A bit of chocolate and maybe some dark fruit. Medium bodied... 10% well hidden. Smooth.
O: Mellow and drinkable. Not sure if cellaring helped or hindered the flavor but this one went down pretty easy. One of the better 'Three Heads' brews I've had.

Drank this right after a bourbon barrel-aged Framinghammer, will have to drink this again on its own. The most notable flavor after switching over is the smoke hitting the back of my tongue. Wonderful taste and sensation.

This pours a dark black, with a small head and a good bit of lacing.
This smells like oak, roasted malt, astringent moonshine esque whiskey, chocolate and smoke.
This is nice, but it would be much better if they used better whiskey barrels, as Iron Smoke makes subpar whiskey. It's a bit thin- but the flavors are good enough- slight vanilla, bitter smoke and roast, nice oak, and dark chocolate.
This isn't thick enough- it didn't quite stand up to the barrel, as I recall the base being more full bodied. It's carbonated well, with a little bit of a creamy feeling.
This isn't too bad, but I'd like to see it in better barrels, or even neutral oak.
