Poured a pint canned 8/13/21 four months later into a Spiegelau glass. Turbid whitish orange makes a good very white head over a SRM color 3 cloudy brew that holds a steady thin foam skim for a long time. Beautiful sticky lacing, and a cute can with clouds in a white sky. I like the cryptic code on can bottom below canning date: "THE THING ABOUT HUCKLEBERRIES." Alluding to the Nelson hops, no doubt.
Smell has an intriguing orange Julius yeasty earthy inviting mystery.
Taste is not bitter enough for me, but the can admits there are only 40 IBUs in it, and I like the fruity citrus melon flavor from the Nelson hops, which are supposed to taste like gooseberries, but I only ate gooseberries once and can't remember being much impressed by them. In this NEIPA, the Nelson makes for a really intriguing distraction from the porridge taste that usually bothers me in New England IPAs.
Good carbonation, a lingering whitebread mouthfeel, makes this Rochester brew something I'd try again if they sold it. I much prefer their Too Kind DIPA, though.

Opaque golden orange in color. Fluffy white head. Great retention.
Smells of ripe tropical fruits. Mango and pineapple.
Tastes of tropical fruit salad. Mango, pineapple, white peach, grapefruit, maybe just a touch of gooseberry and white grape. White cracker malt with some dough. A touch of lingering sweetness, but finishes fairly clean with a cool mint note.
Creamy feel and texture, a bit light on the finish, moderately carbonated.
Doesn't really taste like a Nelson IPA as advertised, but is otherwise a tasty fruity NEIPA.
