Beautiful sunset orange, nice head, fruity aroma with currants. Nice mouthfeel, finishes a touch at the top and bitter but malts the alcohol well. Could be a little more balanced for the taste to catch up to the very good smell. Overall, a good beer, would drink again.

I had a heady topper yesterday, this is not quite there but very good. Deceptive in its 9 ABV, very smooth but I have a buzz from one.

On tap at Three Heads Brewing in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a slightly hazy dark orange, with a small head, and a lot of lacing.
This smells like kinda sweet malt, astringent grassy hops, orange, and mango.
This isn’t great. It’s worse than The Kind, which isn’t even that great to begin with. It’s astringent, too malty, and kind of slick tasting – almost oily, with not enough bright hop character. I want a more clean bitterness as well.
This simultaneously feels kind of syrupy sweet but also too thin, which isn’t a great mouthfeel. It’s not all that drinkable.
There’s not much that I love on this one.
