The appearance resembles orange juice with a translucent yellow haze. A curtain of white lace reaches about half an inch from the top, essentially only the initial thickness of the head. The white head vacated the glass within about five minutes. Thinking back on this, it has the appearance of an orange sherbet float with Sprite.
The aroma is filled with cantaloupe and pineapple. It is fairly mild in this AO IIPA glass.
Bitterness is quite strong, with late sweetness in every sip. The astringency is also strong and never lets up, seemingly coming back for a second hit in the long and bitter finish. Grapefruit fills out the flavor profile and there is no attempt at balance.
It has a medium body. An initial silky texture is quickly overshadowed by sharpness. The astringency is strong, and the alcohol is as expected. Mild, fizzy carbonation does nothing to distract from the strong, metallic notes.
This beer appears to be intended as something fun to enjoy during a Bills game. With that in mind, it is successful, otherwise, it is just another run of the mill IPA.
