Tasted at my local JDW pub, John Russell Fox, in Andover during the chain's beerfestival last year, when this beer was available in the cask-cinditioned version.
A: clear, dark amber in colour, with fluffy soapy head lasting on top of low carbonation.
S: sweet prunes, artificial fruit fragrance... just sweet and little else to enjoy.
T: more like prunes+berries+redcurrents on top of sherry-like maltiness, sour-sweet throughout, with just a little bitter edge scattered around.
M&D: fruity alright, but showing little structure apart from the mixed juice of prunes and redcurrents. Thin. Boring. Maybe the original fizzy (bottle/can) version could taste less unpleasant.

Reviewed this in a Wetherspoons pub in London, first time i've had a cask plum beer.
Mid-amber in colour with no head, just a thin white collar around the glass.
Sweet Vitoria Plum smell, sickly in fact.
At first I really liked it, then the sickly sweetness from the aroma came into the taste and mouthfeel. It was just too over the top for me. The beer seemed to get sicklier and sicklier.
Interesting, but not a session beer that's for sure.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
