Single bottle poured into a Perfect Pint.

A=Dark honey color; 2 finger eggshell head...rather appealing.

S=Very strong and appealing--honey, caramel, and herbal/hops.

T=Rather sweet...honey, and malty. A bit bitter.

M=Lightly carbonated and medium to light body...drinkable.

O=A bit unique and enjoyable...I think this would pair well with barbecue. I would try again on tap, but probably not buy a six-pack.

Pours slightly hazed amber with a thin head. Trailing lace slides down the glass with some sticking.

The smell is of caramel, soft toast and a subtle floral hint.

The taste is of sweet caramel, hint of toast and subtle floral hop balance in the finish.

It is fairly smooth, though somewhat fizzy.

A decent amber ale.

I picked this up as part of a build-your-own six pack for $9.99 at the Binny's store in Plainfield, IL, making this single 12oz bottle $1.67. No freshness date.

The beer poured a clear golden/amber color with a 1-finger off-white head. Head retention lasted under 30 seconds and the beer left absolutely zero lacing, so can't score too high on the appearance scale.

Weak nose - a little caramel, some baked bread, and faint herbal hops.

Mild caramel flavor and baked bread, like in the nose. Hops are herbal and tea-like. 26 IBU's of bitterness.

Medium body with moderate carbonation.

It's OK, but not one of the top notch amber ales.

This beer foams instantaneously when it reaches your mouth. Even when you throw it into a glass it foams up right away. It's a decent beer. Don't get me wrong but its not worth a ton. The beer as a slight robust taste to it, kind of like a normal ale but the fact that it instantaneously foams in your mouth makes it a beer that you wouldn't want to put in your pick six.
