Served from a 32oz half-growler direct from Bier.
This brew is a dark caramelly brown in color, with a very light tan head with decent retention and little to no lacing. Scent is very light - I detected only a very slight "sour" scent and nothing else.
Taste, well, mmmm. I tasted dark malts, a very mild but pronounced sour flavor, and a slight bread/toast taste (which, combined with the sourness reminds one of sourdough bread). It has a medium body and very light carbonation. As it warms, more chocolate and caramel notes emerge in the taste.
This is a wonderful beer! Highly recommended.

Had a sample on tap and brought back a 32oz of this on 10/22/2011.
The appearance is dark and cloudy brown/red with a nice pale tan head - impressive since we poured this into sample glasses. Generally that doesn't give us much head, but it was nicely formed this time.
Sour cherry and bready malts dominate the scent. Nicely mouthwatering =)
The taste is just lovely - bread with a sour plum jam hint to a tingling not-overpowering-but-definitely-there sour to a lingering malty sweet taste on the palate.
Light carbonation meshes well with the sour characteristics of this beer.
A nice hearty body for the style, but not unwelcome given the malty backbone of this beer.
If you like sours, you will like this beer - but if you do not like sours, you probably still will like this beer. It's not hit-you-over-the-head sour, it's give-you-a-wink-and-a-comehither- glance, sour ;)
