Pours an opaque onyx with a small, lingering milk chocolate head.
Aroma is intense. Tar, leather, plums, vanilla, oak, bourbon, and chocolate mingle with bruised cherry and dates. Exceptional!
Flavor is very heavily bourbon-dominated initially, slightly sweet, with charred malt hitting mid palate and drying out the finish. Raisins, prunes, and bruised cherries add depth.
Body is on the light side, but extremely smooth, with minimal carbonation. Alcohol warmth is substantial!
Very complex beer. Great balance. Somewhat reminiscent of a port, with all that dark fruit character.
