Pours a deep brown, slightly hazy, with caramel highlights and minimal khaki head.
Brown sugar, molasses, prunes, figs, dates, and muted cherries mingle with booze in the aroma.
Flavor reveals a slightly vinous note underlying toasted malt, which finishes a touch bitter and dry. Sherry oxidation is pleasant, though malt presence lacks a bit. Phenolic character emerges as it warms.
Body is moderate, with low carbonation and significant alcohol warmth.
Pales in comparison to the stout I just had. Oxidation really dominates.
