Lackluster reviews of the regular flat Jack pumpkin ale discouraged me from trying it. having sampled the barrel aged version, I'm reconsidering my decision. Aroma was definitely pumpkiny with soft spice notes and the flavor was on the sweet side but not overly spicy. The barrel character gave a touch of dryness but wasn't overwhelming.
