22 ounce wax capped bottle, no dating that I could find on it. Purchased at Flat 12 Jeffersonville. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half light tan head that stayed around for a really long time. There's also a lot of lacing. The brew smells like roasted malt, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate and coffee. I think the taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but with the addition of some nuts and burnt/charred malt flavors. The bourbon character in this brew isn't overpowering, but it's noticeable. I don't think this was aged in bourbon barrels for a really long time, but still more than enough time to work well with this brew. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's slick, smooth and easy to drink with a good amount of carbonation. I'm a fan of the regular Pogue's Run Porter, and this version is good too! I wouldn't mind picking this up again in the future.
