On tap at Flat 12.

Appearance: Black, opaque. Light brown thin head.

Smell: Rye whiskey, vanilla, oak, milk chocolate. Barrel is integrated very well with the base stout.

Taste: Similar to smell. Rye whiskey, vanilla, milk chocolate, oak. Some lingering spiciness from the rye. Barrel is understated but very pleasant, works extremely well with the base beer.

Mouthfeel: Thick, smooth. A bit prickly from the rye malt and carbonation, but stays very smooth throughout.

Overall: Flat 12 seems to prefer the subtle approach with their barrel aged beers, and it works very well for them. Another great example here. Extremely balanced, delicious beer.
